Moments of feeling low come invariably in life.

Like life is a random event of a life-span that we try to make methodical by giving it a sense through our living, such moments, too, are random events happening regularly, with established elements of unpredictability behind them.

Like we try to control life by trying to give it an aim, a sense to make a living that stands out individually; that feeds us with elements of identity; that propels us with questions of existence, we need to make sense of ‘what and why’ of the moments making us feel low, making us miserable souls in depressing moments, to take control of them.

Yes, there cannot be a set procedure or practice to overcome such moments. It is simply your resolve that has to say ‘I persist’ whenever you feel the onslaught of life’s erratic flirtations and despondent hibernations.

Yes, it is difficult to do so. But you must realize that feeling low and thinking further about it stings even deeper; sucks even harder; macerates even smaller.

It has to be thought on the way that there is no option but to go down and invite more negativity if you linger more with your depression, if you let the moments making you feel low stay longer, if you value the factors (reasons) hounding in those moments take over you.

In no time, they become lethal enough to take over your thought process, to mess up with your identity, to dwarf your existence, to diminish the sense that you have been making of you.

Can you let that happen? Should you let that happen?

That can never be an option in life. That must never be.

There is no other option but to face them to kill them. The depression of such moments has to have only this validity that they make you think ‘what went wrong’ and ‘why it happened’ and how to tread further.

Feel low, but only to hit back. Pain is always a strong motivator if you can resist successfully the compulsions and temptations of escapism.

Whenever you feel low, you need to persist with the sensibility that gives your life the living you have been working for. Think of who you were and who you are. Think of the body of the work you have put in and let them play dice with the elements making you feel low. Persist. And you shall win.

You have to be in control of your life. Life should not control you.

If you feel low and you allow such moments to take over you, life will make you feel even lower.

Don’t give life that opportunity.

“For I feel for I happened to be someone”
“For I felt I was not that one”
“For I felt I was not who I was”
“For I feel I am who I am”
“For I felt I needed to be someone”
“For I feel I will be someone”

“For I feel I have denied the moments their right to play with me”
“For I feel they still feel they can play with me but..”
“For I feel I feel their despair to loose the winning vein”

“For I feel for the rustles in the layers”
“For I feel for the layers to be living vague identities”
“For I feel for identities that struggle”
“For I feel for struggles more numerous than others..”
“For I feel for that anxious urge of identities to come alone, to go along”
“For I feel for this stasis and resurrection of layers to bind their identities”
“For I feel for this urge of layers to be one in harmony with all the parallelism”

“For I feel for what I felt for who I was,
“For I feel for that co-existence with that subtle parallelism”
“For I feel for that forgotten aspect added to my thoughts”
“For I feel for my Soul to be there for this”
“For I feel for my Soul to be with me”
“For I feel for the urge of rustling layers to be one with..
..to be one with the splutter of the raining beads of thoughts”
“For I feel for I need to feel what I felt”

Dream, aspire, think, feel free and be logical your way.

Dump the practical! Suck the methodical!

Don’t let the sleep deprive your dreams of its logical elements.

Unrestricted, unchained, be your own liberator, no one else can free you. Reality of the senses being untenable, incomprehensible!

Dream but don’t expect. Dream and fly with the flow. Dream and expect from you only. Everyone else is just as yours as the illogical dreams.

Personify your dreams. Weed out the dreams that are there to hurt only, dreams that are there to become illusionary only. Be liberated from their clutches.

Dream, unrestricted, unchained, but be in harmony with the voice of your conscience.

Be free, be with you, be with you in your dreams, make them your own territory.

Don’t let anyone deprive you of your dreams, of its elements, and of its logic for you.

Dump the practical! Suck the methodical!

Live Severally Alone. Look at your dreams the way you look at your life. Subscribe to your logics to talk to your dreams.

Make your own reality. Be the dreaming realist.

The darkness,
Had a view
Strapped, unseen, ignored
Forbidden of its value
I had to see it,
I had to hold it
It could get too frenetic

You need to find you,
To meet you,
There would be
Reasons to rue
Think of,
What has been,
Your virtue
Believing again,
Has to be about you
Rewriting again,
What was always true

Yes, the darkness,
Had this message too
Hidden by the shadow,
That was untrue

I had to read it,
Again I had to foresee
Lest it was too late,
To hold it within me

I needed to reclaim me,
The clutches of the dark
I needed,
To read life again
To deliver,
It on my benchmark
The measure,
Had to be just me

The darkness,
Has its honest alter-ego
The reclaimed ‘self’,
Sees the light grow

Think negative,
Only to think positive
Be practical,
But live your ideals
Love your ‘self’,
To love others

Life is because you are
Living has the elation
Only if,
You are its expression
Born on a day,
You are life’s celebration

I read the darkness again,
To rewrite it,
To go,
Beyond the forbidden
Life is about me,
Once again,
Remains unshaken

Courage has been more than a word

It was the only help personified

When the darkness started taking over

It stayed as the only constant

When my Soul looked increasing distant

It has been there in moments of pain

When the spirit of living was the wane

It has been there in the moments of distress

When there were no more words to express

Courage has been more than a word

It has been the only call identified..

Some of them have chosen to be there. Some of them were placed there. Some of them were forced to be there.

Some of them tried to go back to, but they were not allowed to.

One of them was this lady, of age of a grandmother, in her 70’s.

When one of the older grandmas asked her how she was doing, she said smiling: I am fine. Just have this blood pressure that is varying these days. And these silly joints need some pain-killers. And the legs and hands behave somewhat erratically now most of the time. Otherwise I am doing fine.

While saying this, the smile on her face was impeccable.

She spoke so easily as if it was her natural state of mind, reacting on difficulties of life in a way so as to find a way of living and that too, positively, even if surviving a basically frustrating atmosphere daily.

This old-age home is a paid facility for the senior citizens, who can pay, and has people from different walks of life.

Almost of them have sons and daughters but they are not staying with them. Reasons vary – some of the reasons we can perceive.

Some of them have children settled elsewhere and the parents found they were unable to migrate. Many of them have children settled elsewhere who decided to abandon their parents. Some of them have lost their children. Very few of them never had any child.

By feeling the atmosphere of this old-age home, though paid, it cannot said to be a conducing environment. The seniors living there are a scattered lot. Some socialize while others keep up to them. The old-age home, though charges them, fails to give them a decent daily-life.

Expecting the emotional support, something they need the most, is not to be expected.

They need emotional support with attachment and not the occasional connect with the outside world that comes in the form of public relations exercises of non-governmental organizations and socialites who scavenge for such events and visit places like this old-age home on days like the Independence Day or Diwali or any other festival to fulfill the need for their personal aggrandizement or for photo-op sessions.

And in this atmosphere, such a jovial and natural response to the life’s tougher moments was inspiring.

The smile that so beautifully reflected had the in-built answer on how to deal with the pain.

Take it head-on. Take it positively. Don’t run away from the pain. Try to live with it in order to win over it.

Running away only exacerbates the misery because you fail to see if there could be a possible way out.

A natural smile while in pain had this message for all of us, the smile of the grandma was telling me.

It was, yet again, reaffirming my faith in this lesson that I had learnt through my visits to such places.

Thanks Grandma.

They invariably come.

Personified, creating, adding to the spreading gloom..

Positioned, aiding to the fix of the restlessness..

Predisposed, like a forgotten follow up to the ruin of thoughtlessness in thoughts..

Moments that let you down..

Moments, when they let you down..

Moments, when they personify the negatives in your life..

Such moments, they invariably come.

This onslaught of moments, though painful and so unwelcome, is an integral part of our existence.

We feel this hurting display by moments regularly, especially in the moments, when we feel let down by ‘I’ or by the people closely associated with us or by the circumstances that we sincerely work to make amenable.

The gloom that spreads takes us into its cover. It pushes us to think and rethink. It may also push us to the state of thoughtlessness hammered by the pain of ‘not being understood’ or ‘being misunderstood’ or ‘not being taken care of’.

The insensitivity of the moments in those absent hours disconnects us from the rest of ‘our’ world.

Sometimes, this insensitivity of the moments also detaches a part of you from the rest of ‘you’.

Such moments, they invariably come.

But, don’t let them run over you.

Talk to them, try to feel what they personify, why they had to personify.

We may, we may not get answers but we need to ask questions and we need to look for the answers.

For, life has a knack of getting us stuck into the ‘zones’ of mental bogs, every now and then.

We need to be ‘thinking and asking’ to understand the ‘why of the moments of gloom’ to emerge from these occasional mental blocks.

Every coming days is an opportunity. You may feel it to be similar to what it was yesterday. It may follow the routine that you followed on the passing day. Alternatively, it may take a different approach from what happened yesterday. It may throw surprises that you thought were not going to happen to you.

Every coming day, your today, may bring thoughts and events on these lines but the fact remains there, to be seen, telling you clearly that it’s a new day with new possibilities that you need to realize. Every coming day gives you an empty space to fill it with your colours, an empty slate to write on it the elements of your own making.

Your today, the every coming day in your life, is a mix bag of possibilities existing along with the uncertainty of a tomorrow that is going to be your next today.

Travelling along day by day with this uncertainty of tomorrow, the only certain element that you have is you; your awareness of you; your companionship with you; and your confidence in you.

You have what it takes to make an uncertain tomorrow to a today of feasible possibilities.

Every coming day is an opportunity for you to revisit you to realize the never-ending and newer shades of life that we come across but don’t notice or fail to notice.

Every coming day, that is your today, is a testimony to how you look at life, whether you move ahead to build further on what you were working on yesterday; whether you begin something new, constructive; whether you decide to cut the restrictive line shorter to make it disappear finally by start drawing a new line longer and reflective of you; whether you realize that what you have is only the coming day, your today, that your yesterday is gone, that the tomorrow is not yet here.

Life gives us a chance every day, to strengthen us, to reinvent us, to know us more the every coming day.

Isn’t it beautiful?

Yet..why do we fail to appreciate it?

“Every coming day is a testimony of you, of you being ‘you’ – how do you look at life today to make sense of what it was yesterday..

..whether you move forward to build further on something you built yesterday..
..whether you realize and work to make the line disappear or shorter, the line that was dragging you back yesterday..
..whether you realize that every day is a new day bringing with it new possibilities..
..whether you realize that making sense of each passing day is a positive way to build a life..
..whether you don’t realize or choose to ignore and waste the opportunity that the every coming day is for you..
..how do you get along with every coming day, how do you make sense of your every ‘today’, is thus a measure of you, of you being ‘you’.”

We are gifted with a life. We need to decorate it with a living that such a magnanimous gift deserves.

We are bejewelled with the beads of the time, a time that always moves ahead, telling us and foretelling us to recognize the ‘move ahead’ factor.

We are entrusted with a space that we need to enliven by our very presence here.

We need to be aware enough to cruise across the dimensions of the time and space to organize the beads on the timescale to put on a congruous sphere of existence.

Nothing condescending! Nothing subsisting! Nothing excruciating!

Yes, life does come across such moments and many find them aplenty but we need to see about their nothingness.

The cardinal-most lesson of life is to move as the time moves, taking strides forward.

And we don’t need to look anywhere but within us to make sense of how to make sense of looking forward.

We need to orient and re-orient the inflow of energy from within us to within us and we need to develop and sustain a harmony that travels from within us to our Self that is the representative of our Soul here.

We need to develop our internal faculties to set them in harmony along with the time-scale of the unidirectional flow of time.

Our internal faculties need to coordinate with each-other if we have to have this harmony.

How do we keep us, how do we talk, what do we think, and how do we feel about us – every element needs to be in harmony with the other and needs to be mutually communicating and fostering.

And we need to have this internal harmony to believe in ‘us’, to communicate with our ‘Self’, to exist within our ‘Soul’, to matter in our sphere of living and to prevail in life.

The flow of life has to be unidirectional. We need to realize the difference between the memories and the happenings.

The past is about memories. The present is about happenings. And we don’t need to be worried about the future. Taking care of the past (through the memories) and the present (with the happenings) will take care of the future.

For a unidirectional flow of life, as the time proceeds and processes us methodically and in existential harmony of the Universe, we, too, need to establish the internal harmony within our persona, diligently and consistently.

Swami Vivekananda said, “We see, then, that this human being is composed first of this external covering, the body; second, the finer body, consisting of mind, intellect and egoism. Behind them is the real Self of man. We have seen that all the qualities and powers of the gross body are borrowed from the mind; and the mind, the finer body, borrows its powers and luminosity from the soul, standing behind.”
