UNPREDICTABLE! BIZARRE!

Life is unpredictable. Life behaves in bizarre ways.

Routine experiences in life – yet disturbingly new in their shock value – that make our thought processes so sick that we feel like resigning to our fates.

You never know what is going to happen the next moment yet you plan for it. That is human nature. Building you future on your perceived permutations and combinations is human nature. We all do that.

We pass. We fail. We feel stuck.

Sometimes, life walks along with us. Sometimes, it chokes our vision. Sometimes, it simply goes blank.

Routine experiences in life – that make us question our existence – or simply co-opt us to get along with the flow.

But come what may – a life we all have got – to live.

It is unpredictable. It is bizarre. Yet it is the only life that we have got – that we will get.

At times, it shocks you and it is true that no one else can do anything for you. It is only you who can find a way. It doesn’t matter how sick you are feeling, you have to find a way out of it.

You have to live them as routine experiences – being always conscious that they are not going to dictate your thought process – that they are not going to be the person for you.

Yes, that is always unpredictable – a shock’s shock-value – yet you have to find the threshold of it.

It’s bizarre – yet imperative to live your life here.

LIFE AND DEATH: INEVITABILITIES, SO THINK OF EVERYTHING BUT THEM :)

Thought to share a brief but themed conversation I had with a friend the other day. Whenever we speak, life is the central theme we mostly talk about and we end up coming out to a point where we see some point. 🙂

Me: Life and death are inevitabilities so think of everything but them while you live.

My friend: Some die in installments too.

Me: That happens in every life – at times – and that is again inevitability – bound to happen when you stop living.

My friend: Haha, no one can win from you… Life and death specialist…

Me: Experiential existentialist…:)

My friend: How are you existentialist… don’t tell me…that’s relative…bored of listening that from…xyz…types…

Me: Existentialism literally means you carve out a way for yourself based on your thought process. The society at large has to be a reflection of you which may or may not gel with you but you go well with that – living (and not complaining).

WHEN YOU STOP EXPECTING..

COLORES INFINITUM

Once upon a time, there was a man. He lived his life with a mixed bag of experiences. He could finally find the elements that would work for his conscience. Others, simultaneously, could see the elements, interpreting his life in their own terms. Life had its own parameters to judge his life in its own, routine way.

The mixed bag that he had was driven by a sense of contentment that he could finally reconcile with or absorb what was coming his way – but not at the cost of his self-respect. He had seen more of them making him feel low, but with passing time, he had stopped expecting, and it prepared him to take on every challenge in life.

When you stop expecting, even from you own ‘self’ – from your self-declared goals – you start learning and mastering the art of handing life, along with all its negative shades – you start learning the craft of keeping you away from ‘you’ of the moment – to make you one with your ‘you’ that you have thought of – when the time comes.

When you stop expecting from people around you, in your personal circles, and in your social circles, you start on a process where the only thing that remains accountable to you – is – how do you feel at the end of the day – that you came back to ‘you’ at the end of it. There are good people around you but there are no detractors, if they do/go otherwise.

When you stop expecting from life, your ‘yesterday’ and ‘tomorrow’ become self-aware and conscious of your ‘today’ – willingly or unwillingly concentrating your life in the moment that you are living on the day – because, you have taken elements that were in your past, assimilating them – and you are not going to ‘let yourself down’ if your tomorrow has something else, also, to offer.

When you stop expecting – you start accommodating – your ‘self’ of the day when it is the time to say ‘good bye’ – and – life and the events in life that were otherwise not acceptable. You start seeing people and their ways from their circumstances and perspectives too. You stop categorizing people in different mental blocks. They are there or there are not there.

Once upon a time, there was a man. At some point during his life, after having a run of negatives, after feeling long days of swollen thoughts, he was back to the ways that he had curated for himself – sans elements of expectations from anything, from anyone, including his own ‘self’. The spirit of ‘liberation’ that he felt every time he did so became leitmotif for him finally.

THE HONEY-GINGER-LEMON TEA AND THE DOGGED DOG

COLORES INFINITUM

My friend, who is also a respected elder brotherly figure for me, first pulled my attention to it during our random stopover at a chai-shop (tea-shop) in the market opposite the main gate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT).

After lunch, we decided to take a walk and the urge to have some ‘chai’ took us to the market complex.

Now this dog was sleeping king-size in front of a food joint before the chai-shop, Chayoos, an outlet that we could locate where we thought to experiment with for fulfillment of our urge.

I had read somewhere that dogs sleep, on an average, some fourteen hours a day. Now I don’t have any idea about the verity of this claim but the dog here certainly looked living it fully.

In the midst of a slightly upscale market place with people frequenting food joints that dotted the place, he was positioned there, in his deep sleep, indifferent to the chatter of people gorging on delicacies while sipping their choices of brews.

Now, gorging on food is universal a habit to most of the Delhiites irrespective of which scale and class of the society they come from. In fact, the more affluent ones gorge more copiously (or stylishly), irrespective of which upscale area of Delhi they populate.

And by his size, our dog looked sharing this inherent gluttony of Delhiites. Clad in a striped dog coat, he was clearly obese. Sleeping under the tutelage of the ‘proclamation standy’ of the joint, with a radiant doggedness, he was sleeping like its brand ambassador and it seemed he was adopted by the ‘marketplace with many food joints’ and was enjoying many patrons and good Samaritans.

Pushed by my instinct and my friend’s suggestion, I clicked the frame in some angles. Thereafter, we proceeded to meet the demand of our urge.

Now, this chai shop was like any other outlet in such places, promising big with cramped surroundings, with sitting places giving a feeling worse than the economy class leg rooms of many so-called no-frills air carriers. Frequented by people of all shapes and sizes, it had a longish menu on chai.

We both settled on ‘honey-ginger-lemon’ tea. The counter guy took our order, obviously with a smiling face. But the marketing innovation, yes the promoters of this chain would have thought so, that came with the smile while taking the order was a silly one.

With a marker in hand, the folk asked our name. It’s common, so I told him. Now what he does – he writes our names on the two mugs that are to be used to serve our order. And after the order is prepared, he shouts our name as on the mugs to call us. Now rubbish it was. It was a small space and there was no need for this senseless ‘value addition’. A simple order number would have done it better.

And we were not going to think in ‘outrageous for them’ terms that asking and writing names on mugs meant they would gift the respective mugs to the customers (and so to us). Even if their ‘honey-ginger-lemon’ tea was overpriced, the ‘innovation’ would not be financially viable.

Anyway, the tea served was good in taste and volume, better than my many experiences with ‘honey-ginger-lemon’ tea and ‘honey-ginger’ tea at many other outlets. We sat with, talked and discussed freely and had some quality time together on our once-a-year meeting. And the taste and the volume indeed helped in this. Also, they had accepted our request to bring down the volume of the audio.

After finishing the tea, when we came out, we again saw our dogged dog, now fully awake and strolling around the marketplace in unison with its oversized built. He was walking around like he owned the place.

Naturally extending my previous act, I took some more frames of him and we proceeded to complete our walk.

GAMES LIFE PLAYS – HOW RECKLESS A LIFE CAN BECOME..

‘How reckless life is?’
Vs
‘How reckless a life can be?’

— The games the existence plays with the identities..

— Silly pursuits of life when the spirit of living was staring at death..

— And life recklessly made you love the fatalist in you..

— And you recklessly followed the fictions of life..

‘The games that were to be played differently.’
Vs
‘The games that were not to be played.’

— How reckless a life becomes..

— Mutilating its own soul while playing with others..

THOUGHTS..CALLIGRAPHY OF THAT UNSUNG INK..

Life is the relative presence of metathoughts
Death is just a relative absence of thoughts

Happening as it is, happened as it was
Scripting the ride, lost in the celebrated void

Caught in the hide, away to the treacherous jive
The vibrating nonsense, the agitating moondance

Trespassing the soliloquy of you and me and us
Somewhere to the known territory beyond this life

Away from the amorous wilderness, a journey
To the metathoughts where all that is you and me

Where all that is to aspire is the thought of us
Where all that is to be spoken is only through the silence thus

Where absence or presence doesn’t make sense any more
Where betrayal or acceptance doesn’t come to the fore

Life is the relative presence of thoughts of us
Death is the absolute absences of thoughts of us

Happening it is, for-ever it is to be
Air melts, outlines dissolve..

The song gets the spontaneous tune,
A flow,
Weaving the magic of your unspoken words
Attuned to the calligraphy on that unsung ink
Charting the territory of the virgin wilderness

Eyes dig deep, go deeper, to find nothing, but
To be lost again in the magic of us
That tells me,
The beginning of you and me, reliving the joy of
That eternity of us..

Where are you has never been the question
For-ever it is to be, the eternity of us, is the
Only proposition..

Why did you do so does make for thoughts
It ceased to be between you and me a long ago
It was to be, and it is between me and me
Straddling my soul,
In thoughts, with metathoughts
To my territory beyond this life..

DO SO TO GET THE MAXIMUM FOR YOU..

We come and we go.
We are creation of this flow.
Not entitled to stay forever.
We don’t desire to live forever.
Do the maximum that you can do.
Do so to get the maximum for you.
That is a way to look at life.
That is the way to look at life.
Pain,
That we have so often.
Happiness,
That we don’t have so often.
But,
Peace can always be a trusted decision.
We come here to go.
We have so been made part of this flow.
Pain and happiness they come and go.
Don’t cling to any and get the blow.
Life is never in extremes.
So stop taking extreme positions.
Its grey is never absolute.
So stop blaming your dispositions.
Do the maximum that you can do.
Do so to get the maximum for you.
That is the way to look at life.
Don’t fear the death.
It is only the finality.
It is the only finality.
Live your life with this sanctity.
Make tomorrow your today.
Make today your day.
Nothing lasts forever in this flow.
Everyone comes here to go.
Make your life go as you do.
Be at peace when it’s through.

THINKING SOULS

Thinking souls – the best thing about them is they keep things to them.
Thinking souls – the worst thing about them is they keep things to them.

Thinking souls – they believe in making a meaningful sense of life.
Thinking souls – they believe in looking for a life worth living.

Thinking souls – they read the life, they write the life, following the human conscience.
Thinking souls – they read the life in the context of the humane principles of morality, identity and existence.

Thinking souls – they believe in keeping others before their ‘Selves’ when it comes to sharing.
Thinking souls – they believe others are the similar souls as they are.

Thinking souls – they know one’s best friend is his inner self.
Thinking souls – they know one’s worst enemy is his ‘Self’ that takes him away from his inner self.

Thinking souls – they act to follow the saying that the real quest is within.
Thinking souls – they act to make a life of their inner self in harmony in with their external world.

Thinking souls – they believe in living with pain, not escaping, but assimilating it.
Thinking souls – they believe escaping the pain only exacerbates its experience.

Thinking souls – they know it is foolhardy to expect others to share your pain.
Thinking souls – they know pain can only be held by befriending and learning from it.

Thinking souls – they tend to look inside almost everytime thus.
Thinking souls – they tend to ignore, sometimes, when they need to talk to the external world.

Thinking souls – they tend to overstep on the reading, sometimes, failing to live the experience of pain.
Thinking souls – they tend to act excessively exclusively thus.

Thinking souls – they try to get along with the pain even if they cannot read it anymore.
Thinking souls – they try to make sense of a situation even if there is nothing left to make any sense.

Thinking souls – the best thing about them is they keep things to them.
Thinking souls – the worst thing about them is they keep things to them.

SLAVES OF ‘IFS’ AND ‘BUTS’ OF LIFE

Sometimes, it is really disgusting to be the slaves of the worldly ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’.

It is true we all have to have and have this compromising attitude. At times, we follow it, – voluntarily or involuntarily, this discourse is an altogether different domain of our cognitive abilities.

The truth that is universally true, we become party to it, and it happens throughout the life.

Life is not lived in extremes. One’s living is not survived by the absolute interpretation of events. This is the generic mode a life adopts on its journey. And its generalization is unequivocally universal.

We make compromises, for us, for our people, and sometimes, for others, as the circumstances prevail.

But, there has to be a limit. There has to be enough of it. Taking a stand on an issue and thus subscribing to the humane conscience in you may be painful initially but is wholesome and healthy in the long run.

When, with a progressing age, one’s priorities change and correspond more to the mental faculties and its spiritual overtures, if not to the spiritual overtures, then to the questions on existence and identity, the memories of when you challenged the pressure, when you didn’t bow down before circumstances to make compromises, anoint you and take you on a journey of life that reflects more of your thoughts on the path.

We need to realize how to gauge our dependence on life’s ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ to steer clear of the compulsions and compromises that ultimately make us slave of the events, pawns of the destiny.

Doing so is in us. Realizing it is in our conscience. Corresponding to it is in our soul.

The only differentiator is how well we can read our conscience, how well we can befriend it and how far we can go to be objective with it.

It is the measure of you being ‘You’.

(Context: Tarun Tejpal’s atonement letters that sounds so utterly misplaced!)

INTERACT WITH LIFE

Life creates notions – driven by one’s surroundings – the external and internal life energy regulating one’s rhythms – in proximity with one’s age, one’s body of experiences and one’s realms of learning..

Life creates notions – the symbolisms, that we follow, that we ask about – in varying proportions – based on how these notions interact..

Based on how life interacts with these notions, we move on to get on to the next stage – making viewpoints – at cross-sections of the muddled waters – at quiet of the peaceful shores – reflecting on the depth of the clear water – thinking on the events of a life in motion..

Life moves through these multiple interactions – making its own space – creating its own pace – finding its own world..

Life thus creates notions for you to interact with it – a process that consummates only when the death calls – interact with life to regulate its flow – communicate with life to organize its energy..
